Eventful!

Evangeline got her worst toddler injury to date while we were at the eye glass store. She hit her lip on the arm of a chair. She is having a hard time sleeping tonight but I think the worst of it will be over by morning.
Tim is enjoying his glasses though! (He and Gabriella made this special pose just for your enjoyment!)

Summer is Not Over Yet!

School may have started, but summer is not over yet! Both of our big girls learned to ride their bikes this week! Here are two fun photo's of the girls and their big helper. Tim may be sorry he helped so much when they start nagging him to let them go with him for bike rides. . .

somedays change is good!

Happy Back-to-School week! We are settling in quickly already this year. Tim is gone for 12 hours a day because of school / practice and football games. Evangeline misses him very much, but also enjoys extra attention from Mom and Dad who have more time with her.

Here is a fun photo of Evangeline with her new water table. It was on my wishlist for Evangeline for her birthday and I found it for $15.00 at a resale shop (instead of the $75.00 it would have been new!). We both love it. I hope she can get a bit of use out of it before it get too cold.

We have had some very fall like days this week.

So I have a 1 year old and a high schooler too. What a fun story to tell about our life!

Annelise got her ears pierced last week. Getting it done wasn't as bad as she thought it would be. They are healing just fine.

Evangeline Again!

She changes so quickly plus she is home all day so I have time to take so many photo's of Evangeline. But I can't help but feel a little guilty for posting so many photo's of Evangeline and not lots of photos of everyone else. If it is any consolation, the other kids take her picture too. Here she is with her new standing up trick and then this great hair shot. Enjoy! The big kids are days away from being home for summer vacation, we will post more photo's then. . .

Gabriella's Garden Room

We are happy to be feeling like life is begining to get back to normal now. I (Erin) still have a bit of shoulder pain and I have a few unresolved issues from our "car incident" (as our kids like to call it.) One of the fun things that we got to do is see Grandmommy who came out and helped clean the house and do insurance paperwork etc. On the very day that she left, she helped me prime all of Gabriella's bedroom to cover up her awful yellow gold and then together Gabriella and I finished (Thank you Grandmommy!). Gabriella hand painted all of the flowers and requested the colors blue and green. I love how it turned out and I hope you do too!! I think Grandmommy will be proud that we finished in just one week!

In the outside photo you see Gabriella in the garden bed. They are filled with dirt, compost and plants now. Happy Spring!!

After a lovely vacation to visit with my Aunt Carol and Uncle Dan, the kids and I were on our way home when we were hit by a car on April 1st. Each of us have our own set of bruises but not one single broken bone! Very grateful to be alive. Hans flew out and drove us home (in a rental). We are so grateful to Aunt Carol and Uncle Dan for being there for us too. But most of all we are glad God had his hand on us!

Next we have to find out what work God is saving us for. I know angels guided the car around the pole that the police told me gets knocked down often. I also know I am grateful to have a laps in memory during the accident. I don't remember being hit and I never was terrified. The police, doctors and insurance agents repeatedly reminded me that this wasn't my fault and we both had insurance. The other driver was hurt the most (they airlifted him to the hospital and he needed surgery for his ankle and had staples in his head). We are praying for his recovery. Thanks to everyone for your good wishes!


Our family is so blessed and happy to be alive!

spring?

I saw a great yard with purple crocuses today but couldn't pull off the road anywhere for a good photo. We see geese flying North and flocks of robins too! Here are my "big" girls with a neighbor taken just today. They are even more fun to look at anyway!

They say that teenage boys will eat you out of house and home. Tim hasn't begun eating a surprising amount as of yet. He is almost as tall as the fridge though. . . He began track this week and is coming down with a cold, the exact same thing happened last year. I hope it doesn't slow him down.

You can't argue that Evangeline's siblings contribute to her desire to crawl! All three of them are cheering her on. . .

Our Doll Baby. . .

I made this Doll yesterday. I have been wanting to learn how to make these for a few years now and I found a fellow mom who makes them and sells them on Etsy. . . So she showed me and I am in love. Mostly I love making something from start to finish in one day and then it being something that won't get messed up when I don't want it too. The fun part about this doll is I made the clothes out of my favorite jacket that Evangeline had but is now too big for. (She is wearing the jacket in the photo of her in the stroller.)



I have been through the baby years a few times, and I am not overly excited that Evangeline wants to move already! One, I know the extra work it may lead too and two, I feel like this infant stage is going too fast. . . She is sooo adorable on her hands and knees, but I havn't gotten a good photo yet so here is a great sitting up shot.
